General Information

  1. Fall classes begin Aug. 17, 2009.

  2. August tuition is ½ month. Tuition should be paid by your 1st dance class each month.

  3. Every other month of classes through May will be full tuition. June will be prorated for 3 weeks of instruction.

  4. You may have your tuition taken off debit or credit card between the 1st and 3rd of every month. You can pay with cash, check or credit card monthly. You can pay year in full and receive 5% discount.

  5. Payments made after the 7th of each month are considered late. Late fee is $10.

  6. Returned checks will be charged a $20 return check fee.

  7. DCDP follows the same holiday calendar as DPISD. We do not take off for teacher in-service days or most 1 day holidays. You will be given a full calendar of DCDP events through the end of the year.

  8. Participation in both our Christmas performance and end of the year recital is not mandatory but strongly encouraged.

  9. Please be aware of costume due dates as those payments should be separate from your regular tuition.

  10. Please be sure to turn in your sizing form for costumes which will be given out at a later date.

  11. Please make sure your child wears the proper attire and brings their dance shoes to every class.

  12. Please make sure your child has their hair up and secure from face for every class.

  13. No gum, candy or food allowed in the classroom. Dancers may bring water bottles if they choose.

  14. Please do not talk to your child or to the teacher during a class. I know this is tempting when there is no wall there, but it is important to set ground rules. If you need to speak to the teacher or your child, please try to do so before or after class. Also, please allow us to handle situations or problems with the students during class. If we need your assistance we will come to you. It is important that the children understand who is in charge and learn to respect that. Classes will run much more efficiently this way.

  15. Please remember that due to the fact we have an open classroom, we can hear you as well. Please take all conversations and cell phone calls outside. There is seating provided out there for you. Otherwise, please stay quiet while watching as not to distract our teachers from teaching and students from learning. Thank you!

  16. Please park only in the spaces provided for you and if possible stay down on our end of the lot.

  17. If you have a child with you that is not dancing, please keep them off the dance floor, out of the room and as quiet as you can. I know this is a difficult task, but again it is important to create the most conducive learning environment possible with the least amount of distractions for our dancers. Thank you.

  18. If at any point in time you have an issue, or the bathroom needs supplies or there is something in or about the studio, staff or classes that needs my immediate attention, please check with the lady at the front desk or come find me. Thank you.

  19. If you bring food or drinks into the studio, please make sure all trash gets thrown away. There are several trash cans throughout the studio. We want to try to keep our studio clean and ant free! Thank you.

  20. Please sit only in the seats that have been provided for you. Thank you.

  21. If at all possible, wait until the conclusion of the previous class in the big studio before you enter the building. A schedule will be posted. This may not always be possible, I understand. I am just trying to keep the distractions to a minimal.

  22. You may take photos or video your child anytime.

  23. Please do not sit at the front desk or use computer or phone without permission. This is for parents and students. Thank you.

  24. Please be respectful of other students, parents and staff members. Be polite and courteous and keep any rude or negative comments to your self. I will be glad to speak to you at anytime if you have a question or problem. Other parents and students do not need to hear it. Thank you

  25. Please be sure to sign all the areas on the back of your application.

  26. If you choose to withdraw from DCDP, please do so in writing and prior to the start of the month. Otherwise, we will continue to bill you for classes.

  27. You DO NOT get a credit or refund for classes missed due to illness or other events. You may attend additional classes as a make up.

  28. If your child is going to miss class (especially if it is more than 1 week in a row) please try to call us. If your child is not going to participate in class but still wants to observe, please either send a note or come in and talk to us. Students are allowed 1 miss to still get counted as Perfect Attendance.

  29. We are evaluating students during class. If we feel your child is not in the proper class we will request a schedule change. Please know that if your child is in a class that is either too easy or too hard they will not get the maximum benefit. I know they may want to be with friends, but our job is to give them the best training and experience. If we feel being in a different class will do that, please accommodate. Thank you.

  30. Remember, for every student you refer to DCDP that signs up, you get $10 off of 1 month’s tuition.

I hope you have a wonderful experience here at DCDP. My door is always open to ideas, suggestions, comments, questions and praise. Let me know what you think. Thank you for choosing DCDP. I look forward to a great year.
